Miles for memories, 1 July 2021
The past year has been difficult for many, so were aiming to reach as many people experiencing loss as possible. We want to take away some of the tough things that come with losing a loved one, so that families can focus on the most important - love.

Story

These past 15 months have been unbelievably tough for everyone.

In an attempt to positively restore our wellbeing and mind-set, the nurses of the Leckhampton Court inpatient unit plan to take on a challenge as a team.

Throughout the month of July we are aiming to walk the distance from Leckhampton Court Hospice, to each of our care centres. This is 1290 miles.

We will do this by walking, running or cycling these miles independently and on weekly group walks.

During these walks together, we plan to honour those we have had the privilege of caring for, by placing remembrance pebbles along our routes, look out for them!

We all feel so proud to work at Leckhampton Court; it truly is a special place, full of the most wonderful, caring people who have continued to work tirelessly throughout this pandemic.

If you are able to support the work of the hospice in the way of a small
donation to keep us motivated and moving, we would so appreciate it.

We want to continue to be there when it matters for those in our local community.

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.
