Maria's Cake & Garden Stall

Maria Horsburgh is raising money for The Juniper Trust

Maria's Cake Stall · 1 June 2022

Our Nepal Quality Schools Project will provide teacher training, school libraries, and essential equipment to 20 remote schools that the Juniper Trust has helped reconstruct since the devastating earthquake in 2015.

Story

Maria, a local gardener and ex café owner from Keswick, has raised over £1,500  (Aug  2022) by selling homemade cakes and plants in a Lake District village. The stall relies on passing walkers to place payments in an honesty box on their way to or coming back from the fells. Maria will travel to Nepal this coming November as a volunteer with Adventure Aid Nepal.

The group of 12 people hope to raise a combined total £15,000 to purchase and deliver new uniforms and equipment for 300 children (it costs just £20 to give a child new hope with a school uniform, shoes, rucksack, pencils and books), to provide a new library of 1,500 books and to buy and help plant 2,500 fruit saplings during their visit.

Help Maria reach her target of £2,000 by visiting her stall and buying a cake, or by simply making a donation on this Just Giving Page.

The Juniper Trust is volunteer run charity where, 100% of donations go to projects.
