Maria's Challenge in memory of Lily and Elissa

On the 5th October 2012 my beautiful identical twin girls Lily and Elissa were born too soon at 27 weeks. Very sadly Elissa passed away after 8 hours and Lily passed away after 9 days. They were beautiful and perfect but just too tiny to survive.
In honour of my girls I am raising money for The Fetal Medicine Foundation. I want to help prevent other parents going through the tragedy and pain I have endured.
On the 2nd November 2014 I will be doing Nuclear Fallout, 8k 60+ obstacle course where hypothermia isn’t uncommon, cuts, bruises, scrapes and sores are all abundant.
At The Fetal Medicine Foundation Professor Kypros Nicolaides and his team of international group of experts aim to improve the health of pregnant women and their babies through research and training in fetal medicine. 17 babies a day are either stillborn or die within the first 28 days of life. Over 6,500 babies are dying every year. They research the following:
Early diagnosis of fetal abnormalities
Screening for chromosomal defects
Development of safer techniques for prenatal diagnosis
Intrauterine fetal surgery
Prediction and prevention of stillbirth
Prediction and prevention of pre-term birth
Preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction
Problems of multiple pregnancies
Thank you very much in advance for your support it's very much appreciated.
