There can’t be many phrases more terrifying than “you have cancer”. None of us wants or expects to hear it but thousands of us do every day.

I was diagnosed with an early stage cancer in May 2019. While I have lots of people to thank for helping me through that horrible time - family, friends, colleagues, doctors and nurses - I owe a special thanks to the team at the Maggie’s centre in Glasgow.

Our brilliant NHS takes care of the physical side of cancer treatment but the psychological impact can be just as tough. Maggie’s provides a much needed practical and emotional support service to those affected by cancer. Whatever I was facing, I always felt safe and at peace as soon as I walked through their doors. 

I was given the all clear after major surgery in July 2019 and during my recovery, I discovered a love of baking! The guys at Maggie’s have very kindly acted as my tasters over the last few months and I’m now starting to use my new hobby to raise funds for them. 

I make a range of flavoured cupcakes including: Jammie Dodger, Nutella/ Ferrero Rocher, Rolo, Crunchie, Mint Aero, Chocolate Orange, Oreo Cookies and Cream and more! 

I also make floral buttercream arrangements (which can come in boxes or as bouquets) and some fondant designs. Check out the gallery below for some examples! 

All proceeds go to Maggie’s and suggested donations are:
