Lap the Lough · 30 August 2009
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 30 August I cycled a lap of Lough Neagh.
Lough Neagh is the largest lake in Ireland and Britain and the 3rd largest in Western Europe. At over 35km long and 20km wide needless to say it's quite a water feature.
I cycled 140km (thats a massive 87 miles!!) to raise money for the MS Society. The rain poured, the roads were muddy and I even had a "wardrobe malfunction" in the form of a stuck cleat (brackets that attach to the bottom of cycling shoes for the unitiated) and my lovely husband had to deliver trainers to me around Maghery so that I could complete the challenge!! Despite the weather and my very own wardrobe malfunction I completed it in a respectable 6 hours and 17 minutes.
Some of you may know that my aunt had MS and next year is her 20th anniversary and I would like to mark this by raising some funds for this very worthwhile cause.
Even though I have completed the challenge it isn't too late to sponsor me!!
