Story

In 2014 my beautiful 9 year son Oscar died of a brain tumour called medulloblastoma and we founded this charity. I always thought this was a way to help other families to not have to go through what we and in particular Oscar did. I never imagined that we would have to go through something similar again but in 2020 my then 4 year old son Milo got diagnosed with a brain tumour called Choroid Plexus Carcinoma and died the year after at 5 years old. My sons were beautiful happy boys who led full lives. As a mother all you want to do is protect your children and make life good for them and when they are sick you want to make them better. The only way I know how to make it better when a child has a brain tumour is by finding better, kinder treatments and hopefully a cure. This is what we work for at OSCAR's Charity.

Lucas (my 12 year old son) and I will climb Ben Nevis, at 1345m, the highest mountain in Scotland and the United kingdom. This will not be easy for us, but we will do it in memory of Lucas' brothers knowing our struggles on the mountain is nothing compaired to the struggles Oscar and Milo went through throughout their treatment years. No other child should suffer this, so if you can, please donate so we can fund more research and help more children.

Thank you

Marie

About the charity

OSCAR's PBTC was set up in memory of Oscar Hughes, a 9-year-old who died of a brain tumour in 2014. His journey was heartbreaking yet inspiring. OSCAR's aims to provide support and care to children with brain tumours, raise awareness to help diagnosis and fund research into better treatments.
