Story

This year I am taking part in the Great North Run 2022, my first ever half-marathon event.

I have done different running events to raise money for charities but this is something I have never done before.

As many of you know, my brother has Autism and severe learning difficulties. We have been lucky as a family to benefit from charities such as the North East Autism Society that provide an excellent service to those with Autism and their family members. I think their mantra ‘Working together to inspire, support, celebrate and equip autistic and neurodivergent people to fulfil their potential in life’ is exactly what I believe in and I am delighted to be running on their behalf to raise money for this excellent cause.

For more information on the work they do, please do follow this link: https://www.ne-as.org.uk/what-we-believe

I am very excited to take part in this event and I hope I can improve my running time by September!
