Walk Local for TTP · 12 September 2021

Our fund facilitates a support group for patients who have suffered from TTP, a rare disorder of the blood coagulation system. We also support lab-based research at UCLH. We are a fund within UCLH Charity, the main charity for UCLH NHS FT.

Story

Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) is a rare blood disorder that occurs when the ADAMTS13 enzyme is affected causing small blood clots, low platelet count and destruction of blood cells.  TTP episodes can be life threatening.

TTP patients, family, friends and the team at University College Hospital London take part in the annual London Bridgathon sponsored walk when it is safe to do so. This year we once again encourage you to stay local and walk around your park, lake, forest, beach, streets or even your garden to raise much needed funds for TTP Education & Research.  You can set your own target to walk anything between 1-10 miles depending on your energy levels.  Start at your own time and finish by 8pm.  You can share photos of your walk on the TTPNetwork Facebook page throughout the day.

Please do remember Covid guidelines if you are meeting other people outside your household.

We appreciate your donations however small or large, please send this link to family, friends and colleagues to donate and tick the Gift Aid box if applicable to increase your donation further.

All proceeds go to UCLH Charity TTP Education & Research.

Thanks for supporting TTP and other rare blood disorders.
