Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Currently over 2,000 children drown in Vietnam every year, that is more than 5 every day. The World Health Organisation calls this the 'silent epidemic' and believes these numbers to be conservative. Many of these tragedies could be avoided if the children had been taught how to swim.
Swim Vietnam has taught over 30,000 children to swim, installed 17 swimming pools, trained over 1,500 swim teachers and provided water safety education to over 245,000 school children. But more work needs to be done. Drowning is a preventable problem. Anyone can drown but no one should. Just £20 will allow us to teach one child to swim.
We are doing the 25 km Halloween night walk through London to raise these much needed funds for Swim Vietnam.
