Hi guys, I am doing CHILDREN WITH CANCER UK SWIM SERPENTINE on 21st September. Its a short 2mile swim, but means a lot for me.
I don't want to brag, but our health is the most precious thing that we have. Just a few years ago I was almost bed bound, more than 35kg heavier, depressed, brain fog, not being able to walk more than 10 min long.
I am grateful for the universe and all the people who supported me over that period, nutritional supplements... It was F..G hard, trust me. But here you go, a few years later I am back in the sport and feeling WAAAAY better.
So, I have decided to do a bit of charity fundraising again to celebrate the HOPE...sorry, those who are not into this, I will post only a few more times, promise.
I would like to raise money for The Lily Foundation . They are a lovely bunch of people, helping children to fight mitochondrial disease.
Mitochondria is a tiny powerhouse inside each cell. If its not working properly, a child or adult will have various health issues, and any of the body's organs and systems can be affected...such as the brain, heart, lungs, gut, liver and skin. 10 million people in the UK suffer from diseases in which mitochondrial dysfunction is believed to be involved, while every day in the UK a baby is born who will develop mitochondrial disease. Unfortunately, this condition is hard to diagnose, as symptoms often resemble those of other serious illnesses. Some may suffer from seizures, fatigue, vision and hearing loss, cognitive disabilities, respiratory problems or poor growth. The disease is debilitating, there is no cure and lives are cut far too short.
Over £2m is invested in research, and I hope that every little helps and would love to talk more about this issue. Lilly's mission is to support people whose lives are affected by the condition, raise awareness and fund research into its prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
Please donate if you can and together we will make a difference.
Thank You!
