I am raising funds to support UNICEF’s work with orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS.

In sub-Saharan Africa , AIDS has killed one or both parents of more than 12 million children under 15 years. This incalculable loss results in children assuming adult responsibilities before their time, facing stigma, gender discrimination, poverty and inadequate social services.

I am asking you to make a donation and make a huge and very real difference to lives of these kids.  

Here are some examples of where your money would be going: 

v      £7 provides a young person living in the Republic of Congo with essential knowledge and competencies to avoid HIV/AIDS infection

v      £14 could provides a child living in the Republic of Congo with  psycho-social support for one year

v      £16 helps UNICEF identify a child in Mozambique or Malawi who has been orphaned by AIDS and provide him/her with basic health care, proper nutrition, a school uniform and supplies, as well as psychosocial support during times of distress.

v      £19 buys an ‘Art-in-a-box’ materials kit, supplied to orphans and vulnerable children at special centres where they can meet others, interact and have fun.

v      £50 gives a year’s supply of medicine for a mother with HIV. This will ensure that her baby does not grow up an orphan.

v      £95 enables five children orphaned due to AIDS-related causes to receive help in overcoming their trauma and support to cope with daily life on their own.
