My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our just giving page.
This is for a man who was a much loved Brother , father , uncle and most of all friend. He was loyal to his family and friends like no one i've ever known. Unfortunately his life was a difficult one but he would rarely show it, he was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2006 and sought help, unfortunately it was all to late and Pete took his own life on the 2nd of April 2007 sending a devastating wave through our family. I had the absolute privelage of calling Pete my Brother but also my best mate for the short time we had together and I hope no one has to know the pain we felt, and continue to feel at his loss.
Many people, including other family members of mine have been affected by mental illness. We all know someone who has suffered and still do on a daily basis , lets show them its not something to be ashamed of , or to not talk about lets show them we understand and will help raise awareness so people dont hide from it but stand up, get help and get their life back which is what SAMH strive to do MENTAL HEALTH LETS GET RID OF THE STIGMA !!.
To do our bit in this fight we (incl Pete's sons and nieces) are climbing Ben Nevis on the 28th of April 2012 so help us by either dusting off yer hiking boots or by donating whatever you can to this page spread the word.
Make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. It’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. There is also an option of a £5 txt donation, just txt PETE67 and the amount to 70070.
Your donations will be much appreciated so please dig deep and donate now. Thank you!
