UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency leads the response to refugee protection across the world. This work relies on donations so thank you for standing with refugees and making their protection possible. UK for UNHCR is the UN Refugee Agency’s national partner for the United Kingdom.

Story

There are about 40 wars happening in the world at the moment. The impact on the populations in these areas is devastating with millions of people forced to abandon their homes, fleeing from war, violence and oppression. People like you and I, who one day suddenly find themselves in the midst of a conflict.

The UN Refugee Agency is providing protection and humanitarian assistance to families within the first 72 hours of an emergency being declared.

To raise funds in support of their efforts, I am doing a trek to Everest Base Camp. This journey includes a 130 km-long strenuous trekking over 12 days for up to 8 hours per day, reaching altitudes of over 5,500m and presenting some high altitude risks. This is also an opportunity for you to make a tangible and measurable contribution to people who are forced to flee their homes so that they are sheltered and safe.
  • €5 could help provide a warm fleece blanket to a displaced person
  • €12 can provide two families with jerry cans to transport clean water
  • €23 can provide a warm sleeping bag to a refugee
If you would like to help, you can do so on here.

Thank you,
Mario
