Hearing words like 'autism', or 'learning difficulty' can be devastating for parents. Seeing someone you care about affected by stroke is devastating. B.I.R.D. offers a therapy programme to achieve their true potential. Your support will help more families seeking our support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, we have selected this charity in memory of Saskia. It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our beloved Saskia Bets passed away, 26/01/21 aged 27.

Saskia was involved in a head on collision driving to her work at Hob Moor Oaks Academy in York. She was brought to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious injuries. Throughout the day the ITU spent their time caring for her and putting her at ease by means of an induced coma. Unfortunately due to a traumatic brain injury she passed away later that evening. This charity helps children with dyslexia, autism and learning difficulties, for example, as well as people with acquired brain injury due to a stroke or physical injury.

We are utterly heartbroken, and at the end we find comfort that she was surrounded by her loved ones.

We are having a procession along Snainton High street on Thursday the 11th February, if you could start gathering at 1:15pm and we will shortly follow; Starting from the Peacock and heading towards Brompton. If you would like to attend the procession please attend the high street for 1:15pm. We ask that you wear something blue, wrap up warm and remain socially distanced from others.
