When asked by Caroline if I would like to be involved in the El Camino de Santiago Trek for Calum’s Cabin, the first thing that came to mind was the song sung by The Lemonheads "I Lied About Being the Outdoor Type" - but how could I say no??

As some of you may be aware, I have been involved with Calum’s Cabin for over 10 years. For those of you who don't, I first heard about Calum's Cabin whilst our daughter Mairi was being treated for Leukaemia. Initially, I volunteered with Calum's Cabin, now I am part of the work force of this amazing children's charity. I know first hand the wonderful work Caroline, Duncan and Jenna do in memory of their son and twin brother Calum. Over the years I have developed such a passion for Calum's Cabin and the work they do helping children with cancer and cancer related illnesses make special memories with their family and friends, hence the reason I have agreed to go on the Trek.

Walking the Camino (approx. 110 km over 5 days) in the June heat seems such a breeze compared to the what the children have to endure during their illness. I would love to raise as much as I can to continue the fantastic support Calum's Cabin give to the children and their families.
