Last year I joined the St Albans City FC group cycling to Amsterdam having been persuaded to do so by Phill Coates in his ongoing crusade to fund research into this disease which affects 1 in 8 men during their lifetime. Phill himself had been diagnosed a few years ago and with early diagnosis and treatment is now fit and healthy.

The seriousness of Prostate Cancer was brought home to me 2 days after my return when a fellow Physiotherapist (Paul Dando) telephoned me to tell me that he had undergone Prostate surgery the previous week and could I make sure I visited my GP to be checked. Paul had no idea I had just returned from the Amsterdam 2018 Prostate Cancer UK fundraising ride...……………..we decided then that as long as he was fit enough we would ride to Amsterdam together in 2019...…………...Paul's treatment continues but we have both been in training since and our aim is to ride into Amsterdam together on June 7th 2019.
