First and foremost I have a selfish reason for running in this event in that I think completing a marathon in Lockdown will be a really great thing to achieve and a cool thing to say you have done-assuming a complete it ok!!

Once the excitement wore off it made me think of all those people, in particular women, who not only can't get out but for them their home is their prison.  Domestic abuse has surged in the pressure cooker of the pandemic as alcohol use increases and money insecurity grows more and more women find themselves at risk.  One charity in Brighton provides safe havens and protects the most vulnerable of women in our local community but the increased demand means they need our help so that they never leave anyone in situation that puts them in harms way. 

Please if you can give what you can to help protect the at risk women of Brighton and Hove.  As an incentive if we raise over £500 I commit to running the last 10K as an inflatable breast down Brighton seafront (pictures will be supplied).
