Back Onside is committed to helping young people and adults who face mental health challenges due to social exclusion, disability or challenging life circumstances. We have one aim: to promote self-confidence, raise self-esteem and unlock the potential confined within each participant.

Story

I have set myself the challenge of running 22 marathons in the calendar year of 2022.

This personal challenge is to try and raise funds for the terrific mental health charity BACK ONSIDE, it is also a way of helping myself deal with my own mental health, and distance running does that for me.

BACK ONSIDE were a great help and support to me when i lost my best friend to suicide in October 2020 and really began struggling with my own mental health. If by running any of these marathons can raise a little bit of awareness that 'its ok not to be ok' and help people reach out, then this can only be a good thing.

I'll be posting on Social Media the times and dates of my runs in the hope of getting people to join me for a few miles or even just a High 5 in the passing, as they will mostly be run locally with a few organised events through the year.
