Mark's Kayak Challenge page

We've joined together to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
The challenge:
To kayak from Fort William to Inverness along the Caledonian Canal in July of this year
Description:
The Caledonian Canal is a distances of approximately 60 miles! We will start at Fort William on the North Atlanic and finish at Inverness on the North Sea North, taking in Loch Ness (23 miles long and up to 1.5 miles wide). We expect the challenge to take two full days.
Why:
Partly as a tribute to Gavin Butcher, a volunteer crew member on the Newhaven lifeboat who lost his battle with cancer in ...late February and secondly to help the RNLI raise funds to enable their volunteers to operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
The team consists of 7 crew members of the Newhaven Lifeboat and 6 friends of the Newhaven Lifeboat.
