Not all of us are lucky enough to live normal and healthy lives and when serious, sometimes terminal, illness strikes the children and young people in our community the emotional and physical impact affects the whole family and can be overwhelming.

As a parent I’ve experienced the angst of seeing my own child struggle with the occasional bump and scrape as he grew up but have no real grasp of the helplessness that parents of serious sick kids must experience. Demelza do though. I became a volunteer and supporter of the Hospice movement after being impressed with the expert care, sensitively administered to a dear friend and neighbour many years ago now. Demelza relies so much on the support of their volunteers and fundraising efforts so if you are able to help this amazing charity any donation you are able to make will definitely be put to great use.
