The Gurkha Welfare Trust is the leading Gurkha charity. We provide financial, medical and community aid to relieve poverty and distress among retired Gurkha soldiers, their families and their wider communities.

Story

General Sir Peter Wall, Chairman of the Gurkha Welfare Trust and until recently Head of the British Army, is joined by Jeremy Brade, Mark Brown and Chris Kemp to undertake the challenge of completing Trailwalker - a 100km trek across the South Downs in under 30 hours. We are not youthful but we will train for the event and we will succeed. It will be nothing compared to the hardship now being endured by the people of Nepal to whom we have a duty to support in their hour of need. The Gurkha Welfare Tust and its highly-skilled staff are perfectly placed to deliver assistance to everyone in the affected areas of Nepal. Its infrastructure is well-established with an existing logistics network and robust communications. Every penny donated will go towards the delivery of aid.
