Story
I am passionate about our natural world and want to help organisations like this who are doing great work to rewild our country.
Trees for Life is an award-winning charity working to restore Scotland's Caledonian Forest. Our vision is to restore natural forests and rare wildlife to a spectacular wilderness region of the Scottish Highlands, including our 10,000 acre Dundreggan Conservation Estate. Our work is about people as much as places. Our conservation work is carried out by volunteers and funded by our members, charitable trusts, corporate supporters and people who dedicate a tree or grove.
As part of The Great Charity Pot and Print Fair I’m offering this framed print of a moth wing to be won in a Prize Draw.
The rust print was created by scratching through a painted metal sheet to the steel below, soaking the paper in rusting solution and leaving on the metal sheet, covered for a few days for the rust to soak into the paper. The metal sheet only gives 4 prints (before the paint starts to flake off) and each one is different. After printing, the wing outline is then covered and gunpowder poured around it and ignighted. After washing, watercolour is then added to the background. Size: 34cmx34cm. This would normally retail at £100.
To enter you can donate to Trees for Life here or you can enter for free by scanning the QR code below.
Each entry will place your name into the hat.
The Charity Prize Draw will close at 9pm on Wednesday 9th March. The winner will be picked at random by me on Friday 11th March 2022.
