Mark Douglas Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust Cycle Ride 2018 · 27 July 2018

The Trust’s principal aim is to enhance the quality of life of players who have suffered terrible injuries. Help provided can include funding significant house adaptations like wet-rooms and ramps, hoists, wheelchairs and specially adapted cars to restore mobility and independence.

Story

The trust was founded in 1972 to help those players who had received life changing injuries.  There are currently 33 men and women in this category, all in need of assistance.  The help provided by the Trust included home adaptations, hoists, wheelchairs and specially adapted cars to restore mobility and independence.  the Trust also offers support with rehabilitation, career advice, retraining and education.  The President of the WRU, Dennis Gethin OBE is Chairman of the Trust and HRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge is the Trust's patron.  Rugby Football is a wonderful game with an amazing community spirit.  However, as in life generally, unfortunately accidents happen.  We hope that by raising some additional funds that we can help those in need.  With this in mind, led by Ryan Jones as Team Captain, some of the Wales' former Internationals and other members of the Cycle community will ride from Parc y Scarlets to the Principality Stadium (via Aberystwyth and Breacon) over three days in July.  We hope you can help by giving a dontation - big or small - to this worth while cause.
