Story

Peter Wanless, CEO of NSPCC, and I are taking part in the CEO Big Climb on Friday 30 October. Together, we’ve agreed to virtually climb the distance of The National Three Peaks (over 25 miles!) in celebration of our partnership with the NSPCC – and to raise vital funds to support the NSPCC's online safety work. Throughout the day, I’ll also be joined by members from my Executive Committee, including Nicola Green, Ed Smith, Catherine Leaver and Gareth Turpin – to help keep us going.

The challenge celebrates the O2 and NSPCC’s partnership that provides families with unique tools to keep children safe in their online world. Right now, our partnership has never felt more relevant. It marks a time when the safety of young people online has never been more important, as lockdown measures fuel a perfect storm in online risk for children and young people.

I am humbled by the dedication of those raising awareness and funds for the NSPCC, and I hope our virtual mountain climbing goes a small way to supporting their vital work.

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.
