Childrens Cancer Unit-

Every year between 60-70 children are diagnosed
with Cancer in Northern Ireland. Each one of them will visit the Childrens Cancer Unit throughout their journey, as it’s the only place in Northern Ireland where children can receive specialist  treatment for Cancer.

Children's Cancer Unit Charity is an essential
charity dedicated to funding the children's Haematology Cancer Unit at the Royal
Belfast Hospital for sick children.

Like a lot of charities over the last 12 months,
funding has been difficult due to the restrictions of Covid 19. Despite this, Children's Cancer unit continue to provide essential services to those families
like mine who have been effected by childhood cancer. Continuous funding is
essential  to allow the children's cancer unit to operate and to provide
the life saving treatment and care.

In July 2020 my wife and I received the devastating
news that our youngest son Jake had Leukaemia, something no parent can prepare
for. Jakes Journey to recovery is still ongoing with at least 2 years of treatment
ahead. Jake now 2 has shown the greatest strength and resilience even whilst
receiving the harshest of cancer treatment. Jake is an absolute bundle of
energy with a cheeky personality, keeping us on our toes. Jake has his big
brother Leo by his side to keep him entertained and anyone one who knows Jake,
Leo is his hero and best friend.

Since July 2020 the Children's Cancer Unit
have been there to support all of us, but also offer Jake the best
treatment possible. The staff at all levels are amazing and knowing that The
Children's Cancer Unit Charity is the biggest funding behind this I want to show
my appreciation by running this competition to raise some much needed funding.

We are so thankful for the treatment the Children's
cancer unit have continually provided  Jake and the support they provide
for my family.
