Our vision is for a world in which every mitochondrial disease patient has a voice and access to treatment, support to improve their life and, ultimately, a cure.

Story

You’ve inspired me with your support and generosity recently, sponsoring my 10K Demelza run!

Now I want to do my ultimate challenge – The London Marathon, for my ultimate charity – The Lily Foundation!

The Lily Foundation rises funding for research into Mitochondrial Disease – awareness, easier diagnosis and maybe one day a cure!

Mitochondrial disease is a cruel life-limiting incurable condition, which Ivy and many other children in the UK suffer with. Mitochondrial disease is difficulty to diagnose. Ivy had to go under the knife for a muscle biopsy just to test for this suspected condition. Although the results confirmed our worst fears, we are one of the luckier families with a diagnosis and answers to our questions. Many undiagnosed conditions, even cot deaths, maybe attributed to Mitochondrial Disease.

A beautiful little girl called Lily sadly died in 2007 when she was just eight months. Lily’s family have inspired us all with their energy and drive, setting up The Lily Foundation in Lily’s memory – to help other families like ours!

Please help me - to help The Lily Foundation and their vital work!

We can make a real difference for families like ours in the future!

Thanks for your support - it's a great cause!
Love
Ivy, Mark, Ruth, Maya and Willow.
