I recently told a story in church about the 100,000 children and young people who feel they have to leave home each year because home isn't the place of safety and security they need it to be.

Those children are so vulnerable and need support and places of safety to go. The Children's Society provide this care and places of safety.

I need to become a fitter vicar, lose weight and do more exercise; and I'm rubbish at it!

So doing this publicly with regular check-in will help me to achieve my objective whilst raising money and awareness for a fabulous cause.

Between Candlemass (2nd Feb 2020) and Advent Sunday (29th Nov 2020) I will be dieting and exercising and hoping for people to support me by donating to the children's society.

You can do it in a number of ways - see me in person and I'll give you a form, you can wait until the end to see how much weight I have lost, or you could do a small amount each month to keep me encouraged.

Also don't offer or sell me cake, biscuits, sweets, crisps until December!
