Prostate and testicular cancers affect almost 39,000 men each year in the UK.
Everyman is a campaign that was launched by The Institute of Cancer Research in 1997 to raise money for research into these diseases. It was launched for 3 main reasons:
· The incidence of prostate and testicular cancers was rising dramatically.
· A lack of funds meant that too little research had been carried out.
· Men were (and many still are) notoriously bad at discussing health matters.
Their primary aim is to raise funds to support the ground-breaking research done by scientists at the ICR. This work will improve the outlook for every man.
Their vision is that male cancers will no longer be a life sentence by reducing their incidence and improving diagnosis and treatments.
Everyman is a one of the most cost effective cancer research organisations in the world with over 90p in every £1 of their total income going straight into supporting life-saving research.
