Story

I am joining a team of British adventurers will travel to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve in the Peruvian Amazon where we will immerse ourselves in the culture and wildlife of the Amazon jungle. We will be the first to explore the "black waters" of this part of the Amazon River using paddle boards.

Expedition highlights will include exploring three tributaries of the Amazon River by boat, inflatable paddle boards and a Jet Board. We will also try to photograph Pink Dolphins, fishing for Piranha, hunting for Tarantula spiders at night, and will stay at indigenous villages, camp in the jungle and observe the spectacular wildlife. The expedition party includes experienced adventurers Neil Laughton and Jon Beswick, plus local river / jungle guides and support boat drivers, and completing the team is myself, Jeff Halls, Ant Brown, Mick Bishop, Giles Fairmann, Jasmine King, Sarah & Charlotte Morgan.

About the charity

At ASNP we currently run 20 play scheme sessions per year for children from Adur who are aged 5-15 and have SEN needs. We offer 1:1 care for up to 20 children in each session, which are designed to grow children's self-confidence, sense of self-esteem, and communication skills.
