I'm going to attempt to swim the English Channel... and I need your help to make it as successful as possible...

When you've stopped laughing, please read on... 

In all honesty, I'm going to attempt to swim a fifth of it as part of a relay team in the hope of ticking a major one off my 'Bucket List'.  Having been accepted by the charity Aspire as one of their selected teams for 2020 to tackle the Channel, I have the task now of raising as much money as possible in aid of this inspirational organisation that help people who suffer a spinal injury.

As I've spent a lifetime publicising those that take on such charitable feats, raising money for charity and taking on such a big challenge are double firsts for me...  I'm not going to lie, hitting a major milestone earlier this year has been the big driver behind this challenge - basically, I want to see if I still have enough fire in me to see something so challenging through! 

Coronavirus slammed the brakes on everything we were doing, both in training and fundraising and we are now playing catch up. Without knowing if the challenge will go ahead or not, since June I have been donning the speedos - we can't use wetsuits in the sea - and heading into lake three times a week and I'm now upping that... Thankfully, if the Covid-19 recovery continues, we are back on schedule to set off on September 2nd. We have been told to train for a 22-hour crossing where we will have to endure, ships, jelly fish, the dreaded cold and obligatory sea sickness so, with that in mind, would you please support my cause...
