Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My Mum was a beautiful, wonderful woman who battled cancer during the final years of her life. She never complained and quietly fought everything that was thrown at her. In the end she lost her battle and was beautifully cared for by the magnificent team at Solihull Marie Curie Hospice. I’d heard lots of wonderful things about Marie Curie, but until you have first hand experience of their brilliance, it is very difficult to appreciate how great this organisation is. I am forever indebted to the Doctors, Nurses, Carers, Caterers, Cleaners, Administrators and Volunteers who share a common sense of respect and kindness to patients and relatives.
Marie Curie only exists as a result of charitable donations. I have signed up for the Marie Curie Iceland Trek and I am looking to raise £12,000 to pay for the running costs for a full day at the Solihull Hospice.
For every one pound that is donated I will personally pledge another one pound to help achieve my target. I will of course ensure that I complete the Trek across Iceland with flying colours.
I know that those of you who knew and loved my Mum or those of you who are aware of the incredible kindness and support that Marie Curie provide during palliative care, will support me.
Thank you,
Mark.
