At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you might know, I have been actively running for a few years now and since my competitive football playing days are coming to an end, I thought that I would set myself another challenge of entering the London Marathon.  To my surprise/horror I was accepted via the ballot so I have been in training for the last 7 weeks. From today, the 9th of February, I have 9 weeks of training left, my ultimate aim is to run a time of 3 hours 30, but I will settle for any time under 4 hours. My training programme starts to get tougher now as I need to be running 35-45 miles per week.

I’ll keep you posted on my progress, but I would appreciate you reading the below, as I am looking to raise donations;

I am running the London Marathon on April 13th 2014 in Memory of my dear school friends’ Jon and Nicola Wrights Daughter, Imogen, who was diagnosed with an in-operable brain stem tumor just before Christmas 2009.  As you’ll see from my photos, Imi was always full of life and smiles.

Sadly Imogen passed away in July 2010 leaving behind devastated parents, a younger sister, Mia and many family and friends. To help them deal with their loss Jon and Nic have dedicated themselves to raise as much money for charities that helped them through this agonisingly difficult time. One of these charities is CLIC Sargent.  CLIC were there for Jon and Nic in the final days of Imogen’s life with support, understanding and whatever else we can’t imagine you would need at this devastating time.

Any donation you can give, will go to Clic Sargent to support the amazing work they do and therefore other families like Jon, Nic and Mia.

Thank you.

Mark
