Story
Leonard Cheshire Disability work for a society in which every person is equally valued. They believe disabled people should have the freedom to live their lives the way they choose. To have the opportunity and support to live independently, to contribute and participate fully in society. For almost 70 years, they have supported disabled people in the UK and overseas in many different ways, to reflect what they want. By building confidence through information and advice to break down barriers.
Leonard Cheshire are celebrating 100 years since the birth of their founder, Group Captain Leonard Cheshire.
To celebrate the anniversary they are inviting people to complete a 100 for 100 challenge. I have decided to run 100 miles in October. This will begin with me running the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 1st and hopefully end with The Great South Run at the end of the month. I took up running less than a year ago and back then, as someone who will remain nameless said "The only thing you can run is a bath" I am no athelete so this will be quite a challenge for me. Certainly harder than my last charity fund raising which ammounted to me not shaving for a month :-).
All money raised, will be going directly to Birnbeck House Residential Home in WSM. They are aiming to raise £25,000 to build a sensory garden to enhance the lives of the adults with learning disabilities living at the home. Please help by sharing andor donating to this very worthy cause.
Many thanks
Mark
