Story
Charity fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income and need urgent support.
Motor Neurone Disease is a fatal, awful disease and the MND Association support people living with and affected by the disease. We provide an essential care support structure, campaign to ensure that the needs of people living with the disease are recognised as well as fund research to bring us closer to a cure. We are adapting our services to ensure we can still provide effective support but this is becoming increasingly more difficult as we face a potentially devastating drop in income with as much as 30% of our annual income at risk.
So the Directors of the MND Association are taking it upon themselves to do some "virtual" fundraising. As the numbers man, I have decided to take the 2.6 challenge to another level doing 26 different exercises which I am calling my "2.6 Challenge Circuit".
I will do each of the 26 exercises for either 2.6 minutes or 26 repetitions for 26 consecutive days. These will either be done in my garden or using home gym equipment. I'll be cycling, rowing, cross-training, skipping or using weights, exercise balls, battle ropes, kettle bells and my own bodyweight as part of the circuit. I am setting myself the fundraising target of £260 for the challenge so please contribute if you can during these difficult times to help me raise much needed funds for the people living with MND. Thank you
