Before Coronavirus hit, there were already over four million children in the UK locked in poverty.
Now, vulnerable families in all our communities have reached breaking point. They need you now more than ever.
We are supporting families to cover the cost of basic essentials such as food, nappies, cleaning products and gas and electricity.
Donate now and help us support our most vulnerable families to pay for the essentials.
I'm taking part in Byte Night, sleeping out to support Action for Children who believe that every child should grow up safe and happy. This includes Lyle, who was physically and emotionally abused by his parents. They punched and kicked him, and he'd often go days without food. "I wasn't fed at home. I didn't have clean clothes. Mum and dad wouldn't let me bath or shower." Lyle was bullied at school and at 14, he started drinking alcohol his parents gave him. Lyle left school and found a job but had to give the money he earned to his parents for drugs. Depression and anxiety began to take their toll. "I just knew I had to get out." He came to Action for Children with nothing. Lyle was given a safe place to live in supported accommodation and helped to recover. "Without them, I don't think I'd be alive. I nearly took my own life and, if it hadn't been for my support worker, I wouldn't be here."Please help me raise funds to give children and young people safe and loving homes in the UK
