Round Jersey Solo - 40 mile swim · 22 July 2021

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

At some stage between 9th and 13th August (assuming good weather) I intend to become one of the few people on earth to swim the circumference of the Island of Jersey in the Channel Islands.

It's 51km, it's cold, there's jellyfish, and submerged rocks to dodge but the water is stunning turquoise blue and I hope to be escorted at some stage by dolphins. Most people might think of many other things they'd rather do on holiday....

I am not just undertaking this swim for fun, I intend to raise funds for Macmillan as their nurses have been supporting a few people very close to my heart through battles with cancer during the last year.
