My Dad suffered in later life with emphysema, having to retire at a relatively young age in his late 50's. He progressively got worse, but with the help of my step mum Jean, battled it , kept  on smiling , and carried out fundraising and raised awareness of this hideous disease. 

My Dad gave me two good lungs, even though his eventually failed him, so I want to put  them to good use . With my good mate Stuart Whatling , hopefully we can raise money for a wonderful charity , havens Hospices , to allow them to carry on doing the amazing work that they do.  They helped with respite care during his last years, which gave Jean a much needed break ( although you couldn't keep her away, she visited every day) and a change a scenery for Dad. I think he was popular with the nurses! I never heard my Dad complain or moan once , and that goes for all the Haven staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Haven rely heavily on the public to donate , so I'm very proud to do it for them, and in the memory of my Dad, who was such a brave and selfless man.
