Having volunteered with International Animal Rescue in Borneo last year and witnessed first-hand the amazing work they do in rescuing and rehabilitating orangutans back into the wild has inspired me to push my body through 42.195 kilometres or for those who prefer old currency, 26 miles 385 yards! Seeing the whole sale destruction of the rain forests was truly an eye opener. Vast swathes of land looking like a Luna landscape instead of pristine rain forest. The thought that these amazing creatures may become extinct in the wild in a comparatively short time, fills me with despair. We must do something to prevent this from happening, International Animal Rescue need our support to not only help the orangutan but other animals throughout the world.
