We help blind veterans to discover a life beyond sight loss

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the 9 June 2012 our team will be embarking on a 100 km trek within 24 hrs to raise funds for Blind Veterans UK (formerly St Dunstans).

Commencing from Richmond in London, the challenge will entail a walk over 62 miles covering the trail footpaths of Surrey and Sussex, prior to a momentus finish at the Blind Veterans UK centre in Ovingdean, Brighton.

Sounds simple? Last year 40% of the participants dropped out en route with approximately 30 completing this within the 24 hr target.

Blind Veterans UK aim to help as many blind and vision impaired ex-Servicemen and women as possible to lead rewarding and independent lives. Since 2000, they have welcomed not just those who lost their sight through warfare, but anyone who has ever served in the Armed Forces and has experienced serious loss of sight since.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now, every penny helps!
