Pedalling for Pubs 2023 · 22 April 2023

Riding over 450km from the west to east coast of beautiful Sri Lanka, riders will take on tricky terrain and weather conditions for 'Pedalling For Pubs 2023' to raise money and awareness for the Licensed Trade Charity & Only A Pavement Away.

Story

I am taking on a massive cycling challenge across Sri Lanka for two AMAZING charities that save and transform lives: Only A Pavement Away and the Licensed Trade Charity.

These two brilliant causes - cornerstone charities in the UK hospitality and pub space - are needed now more than ever.

Only A Pavement Away gives vulnerable people on the edges of society, and at risk of homelessness, a chance - a chance to lift themselves up via the stability of employment in the hospitality profession. The Licensed Trade Charity acts as a safety net for people suffering extremely difficult times, be it through illness, including life-threatening diseases and mental health issues, or unemployment and financial hardship.  It has been there for people for more than 200 years.

So alongside 29 hardy (or is that foolish?) souls I will cycling across the many mountainous hills and terrain of Sri Lanka from coast to coast (almost 500kms) to raise as much as possible for these two phenomenal charities so that they can continue their extraordinary work.

The training starts now. Please help us if you can - and know that any sum, big or small, that you can give, will go towards saving and changing lives.
