My mum was diagnosed with life limiting cancer around 18 months ago. Her wish was to stay in the house she had lived in for over 60 years but unfortunately that became impossible. The Sam Beare Hospice was on hand to take her in and look after her in the final few weeks of her life. Every staff member from reception to the nurses and Drs were incredible and although mum had reservations about leaving her home she quickly realised how special their care was and that it was the right place for her to be. We as a family can never repay what the Hospice did for mum but hope raising a little money will go towards helping other families have their loved ones taken care of in the last precious months, weeks or days of their lives.
