Story

Hi, My name is Mark Temple, I have challenged myself to do 50 marathons in 1 year, running my 50th marathon on my 50th birthday, In January 2012 my wife’s grandmother was in sobell house with terminal lung cancer, it was at this time I had my first experience of sobell house, they done  an amazing job caring for her in her final days of life, and my wife found great comfort that her beloved Nan passed away peacefully with dignity. At the end of June 2012 my father was admitted to sobel house with terminal cancer, He was a big strong man and I had never seen him scared before, The staff at sobell house showed so much compassion, respect and maintained his dignity, towards the end we were sat in his room, I looked at him, and he was grinning, I asked him what he was grinning at, and he said ‘I’m not grinning, I’m enjoying’, That was one of the last things he said to me,

So I am doing my challenge to raise money for sobell house, to try and give something back to them and the amazing staff that work there for caring for my big strong dad and my my wife’s much loved Nan,
