Spring into March is back for 2023! Again, we are encouraging our wonderful community of supporters to get active, move your way, every day for 31 days in March and raise money to help support people affected by PKD.

Story

I’m undertaking the PKD "Spring into March Challenge" on World Kidney Day March 9th, 2023; a 54-hole golf challenge that includes over 15 miles of walking and over 250 shots in one day.

The reason for my undertaking this challenge is to raise money for the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Charity. I have a personal reason for taking part in this golf marathon; I was diagnosed with PKD at the age of 54. This condition is inherited and can affect multiple organs it is potentially life-threatening as it can lead to renal (kidney) failure.

This 54-hole three-round challenge will be undertaken back to back across Catterick, Richmond, and Barnard Castle Golf Clubs. The challenge will begin at first light with the aim of completing the day before darkness.

I’ve decided to ‘Tee it up’ and take on this challenge to raise much-needed funds for the PKD Charity. I hope you will support me and give me that final push (well my legs anyway!)

Thank you so much in anticipation of any support you feel you can give me.

PKD can be tough to deal with. Whether newly diagnosed, have lived with PKD for years, or care for someone affected, PKD Charity wants people affected to know that they are not alone, they've got us. We offer practical and emotional support and advice to patients and their families from the moment they're diagnosed, through treatment, and beyond - on the phone, online, and face-to-face.
