Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page.
Many people will thankfully never have to experience NICU ( neonatal intensive care unit). They will Neva have go home and leave their new baby in the hands of strangers. Never have to change their nappy through the portholes of an incubator, terrified of disturbing the tubes and wires, registering their baby’s birth without the baby and terrified that every artificial breath could be their baby’s last.
Never experience the fear, the sadness, the guilt and overwhelming emptiness of NICU. But then they will never experience the sheer unimaginable joy to be found in NICU that parents can take for granted. Watching your baby’s eyes open for the first time, the long awaited cuddle, seeing their face without tubes for the first time, first suck feed, first bath, first clothes. The most mundane things that become magnificent milestones for a poorly baby. Celebrating every ml of feed increased, every gram gained, every line removed and breathing support decreased. Those caring strangers become your heroes !!
A group of us will be running the rough runner Finsbury Park 2018, 8th September to raise money for gosset ward (neonatal ward) Northampton general hospital where currently my son Harley born at 25 weeks is being cared for. We are trying to raise as much money as possible to give current/future babies the best chance as my son has had. Please could you help these babies with the best start in life by contributing with as much or as little as you could, it all helps
