This year the Croques, along with some 40 other teams of 4 riders, will be cycling 500 miles in relay from Nancy to Montreux in the Extra Mile Lake Geneva Challenge 2016.  The event takes place over 3 days, from 23 to 25 September.  

Les Croques Messieurs embarked on their 1st challenge to Dordogne in 2006 and pictures of subsequent challenges are shown including the original team of David Eales, Ian Melville , William Naylor and Mark Willis.  Ian was replaced by Linda Willis in 2012 and William Naylor has been replaced by Christine Eales and Clare Melville for this challenge.  All 8 of us will be featured, with Ian as a challenge car driver and William and Barbara Naylor chasing us through the mountains of Switzerland on the last day.

Extra Mile Challenges is a Registered Charity (no.1100243) organising sponsored cycling events in France and adjoining countries.

Each team nominates one or more charities which receive 75% of the team’s sponsorship. The remainder goes to the organiser’s charities which you can view on www.extra-mile.org.uk 

This year our team is supporting Goldington Family Centre (Families First Bedfordshire).  GfC are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year and for them, families always come first and are at the heart of their organisation.  Over the years the charity has helped families in the local Bedfordshire area, to build on their individual strengths and empower parents/carers to develop stronger family relationships.
