Story
Recently I was offered a challenge by my PT; to step outside my comfort zone & take part in a boxing fight night along with some of his other clients.
I said yes without really understanding the consequences.. He told me it would be for charity, so how could I possibly say no?
Well here we are just 4 weeks out from fight night, and the bandwagon is rolling at pace & training going well. The Event will be in front of a live audience of 150+ with more watching via live social media links. I will subject myself to 3 x 2min rounds in the ring against an evenly matched opponent. To say I'm cacking it would be an understatement. However I'm always keen to try new adventures and even better is that I get to raise money for Cyclists Fighting Cancer, a charity local to me and one I have worked with many times in the past. Please take 5mins to read their story and then I would be so grateful if you found it worthwhile supporting me as I step into the ring. Thank you.
Approximately 2,400 children and young people (up to, and including the age of 18) are diagnosed with cancer each year in the UK. We are passionate about helping all of these families along this difficult journey. We help children to regain their physical fitness and mental wellness by giving them new bikes, adapted trikes and specialist support during treatment and into recovery.Since the charity began in 2005 we have awarded over 7,000 bikes and trikes and we can only continue to do this with the support of our amazing fundraisers!
