Flora London Marathon 2008 · 13 April 2008 ·

Every year we support thousands of children and families right across the country. We provide rehabilitation to help children make the best recovery possible after a serious accident or illness, both at our national specialist centre in Tadworth and in the community.

16 APRIL UPDATE - WE DID IT!! :-)

-----------

In an ultimate act of foolishness, we are running the London Marathon on April 13th - yep, after all the 10ks and half-marathons, it's time for the biggie.

Training has been patchy but we're finally getting into our stride. But still pretty nervous about what actually a marathon will have in store for us...

Mark has a place through the The Children's Trust; Carl was lucky enough to get a ballot place but is also raising money for this great charity. The Trust have some big projects going on at the moment to help give the best possible rehab and care to children who have had major accidents or have other disabilities or complex needs, so please give generously.

Of course knowing that we're doing it for a good cause and also that you've all so kindly opened your wallets for us is the main thing that will get us around the course despite the sore legs, stitches and all-round chafing that is, I fear, somewhat inevitable.

We'll be posting updates on training and the like on our special marathon website www.markandcarl.com/marathon where there's a blog, training update widgets (whatever they are) and beautiful photographs..

You can read about The Childrens Trust too of course if you'd like to know more about what they do and their future plans or drop us a line if you wanna know more about how we're doing - markandcarl@mac.com

Cheers all!
