Team: Remembering Mark Shinwell

In memory of Mark Shinwell

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am doing the Balmoral 10k in memory of a friend and colleague Mark Shinwell who died at just 30.

Mark and I shared a fantastic charity adventure cycling across Mexico which I will never forget. This run is to remember him and to help Cardiac Risk in the Young who provide support, information & screening for those affected by sudden cardiac death.

As you will all know I am built for comfort and not speed so although I am into my training programme the thought of the Balmoral 10k is still very daunting. The event itself will be shorter than my previous charity challenges but this one fills me with the most concern. I've never been and never will be a runner, this could be my first and last 10k.

Apparently the Balmoral 10k isn't a place for setting time records and I certainly don't expect to, I'll just be glad if I make it all the way around!

Any donation you can make will be gratefully recieved.

Thanks

Lyle
