Story
Hi guys,
As most of you all no I am embarking on the Lanzarote Ironman Triathlon next May which is a 2.4mile swim, 112mile bike and 26.2mile run. This is considered the most difficult Ironman in the world (due to the Wind, Heat and Hills) and is taking me my year out to prepare for this extreme event. One of the reasons I have chosen to take on the Ironman challenge is to raise money for a charity close to my heart, Chestnut Tree House.
Chestnut Tree House is the only Children's Hospice in Sussex and cares for children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses from all over the county. Chestnut Tree House is a safe haven where parents and siblings can have some quality time together, with the staff on hand to care for their life-limited child. In return of my completion of the Ironman I hope to raise money for the Chestnut Tree House as it receives close to no funding from the government which is rather shocking and relies on people such as myself to raise money for them. This really is a great cause as it gives the time off parents deserve and also a treat for the children, for more information please visit www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk.I would like you all to dig deep and donate ANY amount of money as it all adds up and really does help a charity that thoroughly deserves it.
