Great North Run 2022 · 11 September 2022 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I am attempting my first Great North Run at the age of 51 and I've chosen to do this for Teenage Cancer Trust. Having had the misfortune of being diagnosed with leukaemia around my 19th birthday (March 1990), I know exactly how difficult it is to deal with something so serious, so young. Luckily for me after almost 16 months of treatment I was given the all clear. Support during those months from the Teenage Cancer Trust would have made a huge difference but this organisation had only just begun.

I’ve got a target of completing the run in under 2 hours.
